Let us visit Umm Aiman as Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit her. As we came to her, she wept. They (Abu Bakr and Umar) said to her: What makes you weep? What is in store (in the next world) for Allah's-Messenger ﷺ is better than (this worldly life). She said: I weep not because I am ignorant of the fact that what is in store for Messenger of Allah ﷺ (in the next world) is better than (this world), but I weep because the revelation which came from the Heaven has ceased to come. This moved both of them to tears and they began to weep along with her.

People are like mines of gold and silver; those who were excellent in Jahiliya (during the days of ignorance) are excellent In Islam, when they have, an understanding, and the souls are troops collected together and those who had a mutual familiarity amongst themselves in the store of prenatal existence would have affinity amongst them, (in this world also) and those who opposed one of them, would be at variance with one another.

[AI] ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, whenever reinforcements from the people of Yemen came to him, would ask them, “Is there among you Uways ibn ʿĀmir?” until he came upon Uways. He said, “Are you Uways ibn ʿĀmir?” He replied, “Yes.” He said, “From Murād, then from Qaran?” He replied, “Yes.” He said, “Did you have leprosy and then were cured of it except for the spot the size of a dirham?” He replied, “Yes.” He said, “Do you have a mother?” He replied, “Yes.” He said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Uways ibn ʿĀmir will come to you with the reinforcements from the people of Yemen, from Murād, then from Qaran. He had leprosy and was cured of it except for a spot the size of a dirham. He has a mother, and he is dutiful to her. If he were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would fulfill it for him. So if you are able to have him seek forgiveness for you, then do so.’

So he said, “Seek forgiveness for me.” And he sought forgiveness for him. Then ʿUmar said to him, “Where do you intend to go?” He replied, “To Kūfah.” He said, “Shall I not write for you to its governor?” He replied, “Being among the common folk is dearer to me.”

He said: Then in the following year a man from their nobles performed Hajj and met ʿUmar, and he asked him about Uways. He said, “I left him in a shabby home, with little property.” He said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ‘Uways ibn ʿĀmir will come to you with the reinforcements from the people of Yemen, from Murād, then from Qaran. He had leprosy and was cured of it except for a spot the size of a dirham. He has a mother, and he is dutiful to her. If he were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would fulfill it for him. So if you are able to have him seek forgiveness for you, then do so.’

So he went to Uways and said, “Seek forgiveness for me.” He said, “You have more recently returned from a righteous journey, so seek forgiveness for me.” He said, “Seek forgiveness for me.” He said, “You have more recently returned from a righteous journey, so seek forgiveness for me.” He said, “Did you meet ʿUmar?” He replied, “Yes.” So he sought forgiveness for him.

Then the people noticed him, so he went away on his own. Usayr said, “And I clothed him with a cloak, and whenever anyone saw him he would say, ‘Where did Uways get this cloak from?’”

I sought permission of the Prophet ﷺ to perform umrah. He gave me permission and said: My younger brother, do not forget me in your supplication. He (Umar) said: He told me a word that pleased me so much so that I would not have been pleased if I were given the whole world. The narrator Shu'bah said: I then met Asim at Medina. He narrated to me this tradition and reported the wordings: "My younger brother, share me in your supplication."
