قَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ كَانَ إِخْوَانُكُمُ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا يَشْرَبُونَهَا ؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى { لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا } فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قِيلَ لِي أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ

لَيْسَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جُنَاحࣱ فِيمَا طَعِمُوٓا۟ إِذَا مَا ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّءَامَنُوا۟ ثُمَّ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّأَحْسَنُوا۟ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
" There is no harm on persons who believe and perform good acts, what they had eaten (formerly) when they avoided it (now) and they affirmed their faith" (v. 93) up to the end. Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: You are one amongst them.
لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ { لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا إِذَا مَا اتَّقَوْا وَآمَنُوا} إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قِيلَ لِي أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ
"They (the Companions) said: 'O Messenger of Allah, how do you hold those who died while they were drinking Khamr - considering that the prohibition of intoxicants is now revealed?' So, (the following) Ayah was revealed: "Those who believe and do righteous good deeds, there is no sin on them for what they ate (in the past), if they fear Allah and believe and do righteous good deeds."
قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ لَمَّا نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ فَنَزَلَتْْ ( لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا إِذَا مَا اتَّقَوْا وَآمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ )
"When (the following) was revealed: Those who believe and do righteous good deeds, there is no sin on them for what they ate, if they have Taqwa and perform good (5:93). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: 'You are among them.'"
لَمَّا نَزَلَتْْ ( لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا إِذَا مَا اتَّقَوْا وَآمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ) قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ
[AI] When the prohibition of alcohol was revealed, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about our brothers who have died while drinking it?" So the following verse was revealed, "There is no blame upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have eaten [in the past]" [Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:93], until the end of the verse.
لَمَّا نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ بِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يَشْرَبُونَهَا؟ فَنَزَلَتْ {لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُواوَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا} [المائدة 93] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ
[AI] When alcohol was prohibited, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about our companions who passed away while drinking it?" So Allah revealed, "There is no blame upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have eaten." [Surah Al-Ma'idah, 5:93]
لَمَّا حُرِّمَتِ الْخَمْرُ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَصْحَابُنَا الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يَشْرَبُونَهَا؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {لَيْسَ عَلَىالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا} [المائدة 93]

[AI] The Jews said, "Are not your brothers who have died, those who used to drink it?" So Allah revealed, {There is no blame upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have eaten} [Al-Maidah: 93]. So the Prophet ﷺ said, "It was said to me that you are one of them."
قَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ أَلَيْسَ إِخْوَانُكُمُ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا كَانُوا يَشْرَبُونَهَا؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ {لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتٍ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا} [المائدة 93] فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «قِيلَ لِي أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ»
ذِكْرُ مَغْفِرَةِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا لِمَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ شَرَابِ الْخَمْرِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَبْلَ نُزُولِ تَحْرِيمِهَا
"Some people among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ died while they had been drinking Khamr. So when it was revealed that it was unlawful, some people among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'How about our companions who died while they were drinking it?' So (the following) Ayah was revealed: Those who believe and do righteous good deeds, there is no sin on them for what they ate (5:93)." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3051)

[AI] The Jews said, "Are not your brothers who died, the ones who used to drink it?" So Allah revealed, "There is no blame upon those who believed and did righteous deeds for what they have eaten." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It was said to me that you are one of them."
