قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ حُنَيْنٍ آثَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَاسًا فِي الْقِسْمَةِ فَأَعْطَى الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى عُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ بَدْرٍ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَأَعْطَى نَاسًا مِنَ الْعَرَبِ آثَرَهُمْ فِي الْقِسْمَةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا عَدَلَ فِيهَا أَوْ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ؛ فَقُلْتُ وَاللَّهِ لَأُخْبِرَنَّ بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِمَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أُوذِيَ مُوسَى بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
On the day (of the battle) of Hunain, Messenger of Allah ﷺ favored some people in the distribution of the booty (to the exclusion of others); he gave Al-Aqra' bin HʿAbis one-hundred camels and he gave 'Uyaina the same amount, and also gave to some of the eminent Arabs, giving them preference in this regard. Then a person came and said, "By Allah, in this distribution justice has not been observed, nor has Allah's Pleasure been aimed at." I said (to him), "By Allah, I will inform the Prophet (of what you have said), "I went and informed him, and he said, "If Allah and His Apostle did not act justly, who else would act justly. May Allah be merciful to Moses, for he was harmed with more than this, yet he kept patient."
لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ حُنَيْنٍ آثَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أُنَاسًا فِي الْقِسْمَةِ فَأَعْطَى الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى عُيَيْنَةَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَأَعْطَى أُنَاسًا مِنْ أَشْرَافِ الْعَرَبِ فَآثَرَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْقِسْمَةِ۔ قَالَ رَجُلٌ: وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْقِسْمَةَ مَا عُدِلَ فِيهَا وَمَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ۔ فَقُلْتُ: وَاللَّهِ لأُخْبِرَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ: «فَمَنْ يَعْدِلُ إِذَا لَمْ يَعْدِلِ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ؟ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ مُوسَى قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ۔»
Once the Prophet ﷺ distributed something (among his followers. A man said, "This distribution has not been done (with justice) seeking Allah's Countenance." I went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him (of that). He became so angry that I saw the signs of anger oh his face. Then he said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on Moses, for he was harmed more (in a worse manner) than this; yet he endured patiently."
قَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَسْمًا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ الْغَضَبَ فِي وَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مُوسَى قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
When the Prophet ﷺ distribute the war booty of Hunain, a man from the Ansar said, "He (i.e. the Prophet), did not intend to please Allah in this distribution." So I came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of that (statement) whereupon the color of his face changed and he said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on Moses, for he was troubled with more than this, but he remained patient."
لَمَّا قَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قِسْمَةَ حُنَيْنٍ قَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ مَا أَرَادَ بِهَا وَجْهَ اللَّهِ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى مُوسَى لَقَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
When it was the day of Hunain, Prophet favored some people over some others (in the distribution of the booty). He gave Al-Aqra' one-hundred camels and gave Uyaina the same, and also gave other people (of Quraish). A man said, "Allah's Pleasure was not the aim, in this distribution." I said, "I will inform the Prophet (about your statement)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah bestow Mercy on Moses, for he was troubled more this but he remained patient."

Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided and distributed (the war booty). An Ansar man said, "By Allah ! Muhammad, by this distribution, did not intend to please Allah." So I came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about it whereupon his face became changed with anger and he said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on Moses for he was hurt with more than this, yet he remained patient."
قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قِسْمَةً فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَادَ مُحَمَّدٌ بِهَذَا وَجْهَ اللَّهِ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَتَمَعَّرَ وَجْهُهُ وَقَالَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ مُوسَى لَقَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
One day the Prophet ﷺ divided and distributed something amongst the people whereupon an Ansari man said, "In this division Allah's Countenance has not been sought." I said, "By Allah! I will go (and inform) the Prophet." So I went to him while he was with a group of people, and I secretly informed him of that, whereupon he became so angry that his face became red, and he then said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on Moses (for) he was hurt more than that, yet he remained patient."
قَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمًا قِسْمَةً فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ قُلْتُ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لآتِيَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَهْوَ فِي مَلأٍ فَسَارَرْتُهُ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى احْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى مُوسَى أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
The Prophet ﷺ divided something (among the Muslims) and distributed the shares (of the booty). A man said, "This division has not been made to please Allah." When I informed the Prophet ﷺ about it, he became so furious that I noticed the signs of anger on his face and he then said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on Moses, for he was hurt with more than this, yet he remained patient."
قَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَسْمًا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ فَأَخْبَرْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ الْغَضَبَ فِي وَجْهِهِ وَقَالَ يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مُوسَى لَقَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
The Prophet ﷺ showed patience when a man of weak faith accused him of injustice
On the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ showed preference (to some) people in the distribution of the spoils. He bestowed on Aqra' b. Habis one hundred camels, and bestowed an equal (number) upon 'Uyainah, and bestowed on people among the elites of Arabia, and preferred them (to others) on that day, in the distribution (of spoils). Upon this a person said: By Allah, neither justice has been done in this distribution (of spoils), nor has the pleasure of Allah been sought in it. I (the narrator ) said: By Allah, I will certainly inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it.
I came to him and informed him about what he had said. The color of his (the Prophet's) face changed red like blood and he then said: "Who would do justice, if Allah and His Messenger do not do justice?" He further said: "May Allah have mercy upon Moses; he was tormented more than this, but he showed patience." I said: Never would I convey him (the Holy Prophet) after this (unpleasant) narration.
لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ حُنَيْنٍ آثَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَاسًا فِي الْقِسْمَةِ، فَأَعْطَى الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الإِبِلِ، وَأَعْطَى عُيَيْنَةَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، وَأَعْطَى أُنَاسًا مِنْ أَشْرَافِ الْعَرَبِ وَآثَرَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْقِسْمَةِ۔ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا عُدِلَ فِيهَا وَمَا أُرِيدَ فِيهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ۔ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ: وَاللَّهِ لأُخْبِرَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ۔
قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِمَا قَالَ قَالَ فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ حَتَّى كَانَ كَالصِّرْفِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «فَمَنْ يَعْدِلُ إِنْ لَمْ يَعْدِلِ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ؟» قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مُوسَى قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ»، قَالَ قُلْتُ: لاَ جَرَمَ لاَ أَرْفَعُ إِلَيْهِ بَعْدَهَا حَدِيثًا۔
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed spoils (of war). Upon this a person said: This is a distribution In which the pleasure of Allah has not been sought. I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him in an undertone. He (the Holy Prophet) was deeply angry at this and his face became red till I wished that I had not made a mention of it to him. He (the Holy Prophet) then said: Moses was tormented more than this, but he showed patience.
قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَسْمًا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِنَّهَا لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَسَارَرْتُهُ فَغَضِبَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ غَضَبًا شَدِيدًا وَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ حَتَّى تَمَنَّيْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَذْكُرْهُ لَهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ قَدْ أُوذِيَ مُوسَى بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "No one should convey to me anything regarding any of my Companions, for I love that I should go out to them while my breast is at peace." 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought some wealth, so the Prophet ﷺ distributed it. Then I came across two men that were sitting saying: 'By Allah! Muhammad ﷺ did not intend the Face of Allah in his distribution, nor the abode of the Hereafter.' So I spread this when I heard them, and I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I informed him. So his face became red and he said: 'Do not bother me with this, for indeed Musa was afflicted by more than this and he was patient.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يُبَلِّغُنِي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي شَيْئًا فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا سَلِيمُ الصَّدْرِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِمَالٍ فَقَسَمَهُ فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَجُلَيْنِ جَالِسَيْنِ وَهُمَا يَقُولاَنِ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَرَادَ مُحَمَّدٌ بِقِسْمَتِهِ الَّتِي قَسَمَهَا وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَلاَ الدَّارَ الآخِرَةَ فَتَثَبَّتُّ حِينَ سَمِعْتُهُمَا فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ وَقَالَ دَعْنِي عَنْكَ فَقَدْ أُوذِيَ مُوسَى بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once made an oath and said, "A man from the Ansar commented, 'This oath was made with the intention of seeking the Face of Allah, the Almighty.' I said, 'O enemy of Allah, should I inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about what you have said?' He replied, 'Yes, tell him.' So I mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ and his face turned red. He then said, 'May the mercy of Allah be upon Musa, for he was harmed more than this and still showed patience.'"
قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ قَسْمًا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللهِ ﷻ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا عَدُوَّ اللهِ أَمَا لَأُخْبِرَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَا قُلْتَ قَالَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَى مُوسَى لَقَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions, "Let no one inform me of anything concerning my companions. I prefer to come to you with a pure heart." He then said, "A person came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with some wealth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed it among the people. I passed by two individuals, and one of them said to his companion, 'By Allah, Muhammad did not intend for his portion to be for the sake of Allah's countenance or for the Hereafter.' I became firm and waited to hear what they would say. Then I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, you told us that no one should inform you of anything concerning your companions. But I passed by so-and-so and so-and-so, and they were saying such and such.' The countenance of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned red and he became upset. Then he said, 'Leave me, for indeed, Musa (Moses) suffered more than this.'" The Prophet ﷺ then showed patience.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَصْحَابِهِ لَا يُبَلِّغْنِي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي شَيْئًا؛ فَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَخْرُجَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنَا سَلِيمُ الصَّدْرِ قَالَ وَأَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَالٌ فَقَسَمَهُ قَالَ فَمَرَرْتُ بِرَجُلَيْنِ وَأَحَدُهُمَا يَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ وَاللهِ مَا أَرَادَ مُحَمَّدٌ بِقِسْمَتِهِ وَجْهَ اللهِ وَلَا الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ فَتَثَبَّتُّ حَتَّى سَمِعْتُ مَا قَالَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ لَنَا لَا يُبَلِّغْنِي أَحَدٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِي شَيْئًا وَإِنِّي مَرَرْتُ بِفُلَانٍ وَفُلَانٍ وَهُمَا يَقُولَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ دَعْنَا مِنْكَ فَقَدْ أُوذِيَ مُوسَى أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ صَبَرَ
[AI] I heard Abdullah say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed something, and a man from the group said, "Indeed, this is a distribution which is not meant for the face of Allah, the Almighty." I then went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him about it. He became angry to the extent that I saw anger on his face. He said, "May Allah have mercy on Musa, he suffered far more than this, but he remained patient."
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ يَقُولُ قَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قِسْمَةً فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا يُرَادُ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللهِ ﷻ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ قَالَ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ الْغَضَبَ فِي وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ يَرْحَمُ اللهُ مُوسَى قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَصَبَرَ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took an oath, then a man from the Ansar said, "I do not desire this division for the sake of the face of Allah, the Mighty, the Glorious." Abdullah said, "O enemy of Allah, should I not inform the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about what you said?" So, I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ and his face turned red, and he said, "May the mercy of Allah be upon Musa, he was treated with more than this, yet he remained patient."
قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَسْمًا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْقِسْمَةَ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللهِ ﷻ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَا عَدُوَّ اللهِ أَمَا لَأُخْبِرَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَا قُلْتَ قَالَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ وَقَالَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَى مُوسَى قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ
[AI] Abdullah swore by the Messenger of Allahﷺ and said, "Certainly, this is a division I did not intend for, and it has nothing to do with seeking the face of Allah." A man said, "So I went to the Prophetﷺ and mentioned this to him, and his face turned red." Shu'bah said, "I think he said, 'May Allah have mercy on us! Moses doubted Allah's mercy while he was persecuted more than this, and he remained patient. This is not a matter of doubt; he was persecuted more than that and remained patient.'"
عَبْدُ اللهِ قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَسْمًا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللهِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَلَهُ فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَأَظُنُّهُ قَالَ وَغَضِبَ حَتَّى وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أُخْبِرْهُ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ يَرْحَمُنَا اللهُ وَمُوسَى شَكَّ شُعْبَةُ فِي يَرْحَمُنَا اللهُ وَمُوسَى قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ هَذِهِ لَيْسَ فِيهَا شَكٌّ قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَصَبَرَ
ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْإِمَامِ إِعْطَاءُ الْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ مِنْ خُمْسِ خُمُسِهِ وَإِنْ أُسْمِعَ فِي ذَلِكَ مَا يَكْرَهُ
[AI] On the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ favored some people in distributing the spoils. «لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ حُنَيْنٍ آثَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَاسًا فِي الْقِسْمَةِ فَأَعْطَى الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى عُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ حِصْنٍ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وآثرَ نَاسًا مِنْ أَشْرَافِ الْعَرَبِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ لَقِسْمَةٌ مَا عُدِلَ فِيهَا وَمَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ فَقُلْتُ لَأُخْبِرَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ «فَمَنْ يَعْدِلُ إِذَا لَمْ يَعْدِلِ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مُوسَى قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ» فَقُلْتُ لَا جَرَمَ لَا أَرْفَعُ إِلَيْهِ بَعْدَهَا حَدِيثًا
قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ حُنَيْنٍ آثَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَاسًا فِي الْقِسْمَةِ فَأَعْطَى الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَأَعْطَى عُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ بَدْرٍ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَأَعْطَى نَاسًا مِنَ الْعَرَبِ وَآثَرَهُمْ فِي الْقِسْمَةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَعْطَى أَوْ أَنَّ هَذِهِ قِسْمَةٌ مَا عَدَلَ فِيهَا أَوِ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ ؛ فَقُلْتُ وَاللَّهِ لَأُخْبِرَنَّ بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِمَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُهُ وَقَالَ قَدْ أُوذِيَ مُوسَى بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رَوَاهُ الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ إِلَّا جَرِيرٌ
