Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is made wealthy by Allah and does not pay the Zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be made like a baldheaded poisonous male snake with two black spots over the eyes. The snake will encircle his neck and bite his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.' " Then the Prophet ﷺ recited the holy verses:-- 'Let not those who withhold . . .' (to the end of the verse). (3.180).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَلَمْ يُؤَدِّ زَكَاتَهُ مُثِّلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ يُطَوَّقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثُمَّ يَأْخُذُ بِلِهْزِمَتَيْهِ يَعْنِي شِدْقَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَنَا مَالُكَ أَنَا كَنْزُكَ ثُمَّ تَلاَ {لاَ يَحْسِبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ} الآيَةَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Anyone whom Allah has given wealth but he does not pay its Zakat, then, on the Day of Resurrection, his wealth will be presented to him in the shape of a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two poisonous glands in its mouth and it will encircle itself round his neck and bite him over his cheeks and say, "I am your wealth; I am your treasure." Then the Prophet ﷺ recited this Divine Verse:-- "And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty." (3.180)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَلَمْ يُؤَدِّ زَكَاتَهُ مُثِّلَ لَهُ مَالُهُ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ يُطَوَّقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَأْخُذُ بِلِهْزِمَتَيْهِ يَعْنِي بِشِدْقَيْهِ يَقُولُ أَنَا مَالُكَ أَنَا كَنْزُكَ ثُمَّ تَلاَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ {وَلاَ يَحْسِبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ} إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ

"'Abdullah [bin Mas'ud] narrating from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'There is no person who does not pay the Zakat due on his wealth but on the Day of Resurrection Allah will make a Shuja'a around his neck.' Then he recited the Ayah for us from the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, testifying to that: And let not those who are stringy with that which Allah has bestowed on them of His bounty... (3:180) And another time he said: 'Testifying to that, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: On the Day of Resurrection, the things that they were stingy with... (3:180)' and whoever deprives his Muslim brother of his wealth by swearing, then he shall meet Allah while He is angry with him.' Then testifying to that, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the Ayah from Allah's Book: Verily, those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah's covenant (3:77)."

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ لاَ يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ إِلاَّ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي عُنُقِهِ شُجَاعًا ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ﷻ (وَلَاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ) الآيَةَ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ (سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ) وَمَنِ اقْتَطَعَ مَالَ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ بِيَمِينٍ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ (إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ ) الآيَةَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no man who has wealth and does not pay the dues of his wealth, but a baldheaded Shuja'a will be made to encircle his neck, and he will run away from the Book of Allah: 'And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah has bestowed on them of His Bounty (wealth)' think that it is good for them (and so they do not pay the obligatory Zakah). Nay, it will be worse for them; the things which they covetously withheld, shall be tied toothier necks like a collar on the Day of Resurrection."'

The he recited this verse: 'And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah has bestowed on them of His Bounty (wealth) and think that it is good for them (and so they do not pay the obligatory Zakah)."'

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ ﷻ مَالاً فَلَمْ يُؤَدِّ زَكَاتَهُ مُثِّلَ لَهُ مَالُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ يَأْخُذُ بِلِهْزِمَتَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَقُولُ أَنَا مَالُكَ أَنَا كَنْزُكَ ثُمَّ تَلاَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ { وَلاَ يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ } الآيَةَ

the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no one who does not pay Zakat on his wealth but a bald headed snake will be made to appear to him on the Day of Resurrection, until it encircles his neck.” Then the messenger of Allah recited the following Verse from the Book of Allah the Most High: “And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah had bestowed on them of His Bounty(wealth) think that is good for them”

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : "Whoever takes an oath by my right hand to acquire the property of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited to us this statement as proof from the book of Allah, the Mighty and the Majestic, "Verily, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their own oaths for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter, nor will Allah speak to them" (Surah Al-Imran, 3:77).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍيَقْتَطِعُ بِهَا مَالَ مُسْلِمٍ لَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ ﷻ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللهُ} [آل عمران 77]

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Whoever is given wealth by Allah and does not pay its obligatory charity, his wealth will be turned into a bald-headed poisonous snake on the Day of Judgment. It will take hold of him by his cheeks and say, 'I am your wealth, I am your treasure.' Then he recited the verse, 'And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them.' (Quran 3:180)" Abu Abdul Rahman Abdullah ibn Abu Salamah said, "I received this narration from Abdul Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Dinar, and the narration of Abdul Rahman is more correct according to us. And Allah knows best. Although Abdul Rahman was not strong in hadith narration."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ آتَاهُ اللهُ مَالًا فَلَمْ يُؤَدِّ زَكَاتَهُ مُثِّلَ لَهُ مَالُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ يَأْخُذُ بِلِهْزِمَتَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ أَنَا مَالُكَ أَنَا كَنْزُكَ ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ} [آل عمران 180] قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَثْبَتُ عِنْدَنَا مِنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ وَرِوَايَةُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَشْبَهُ عِنْدَنَا بِالصَّوَابِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ وَإِنْ كَانَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ لَيْسَ بِذَاكَ الْقَوِيِّ فِي الْحَدِيثِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "There is no man who has wealth and does not give the rights of his wealth except that a collar will be placed on his neck on the Day of Judgment, where he will be a bold, barking dog fleeing from it while it follows him." Then he recited a verse from the Book of Allah, "And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them" (Al Imran 3:180) until the end of the verse "on the Day of Resurrection." (Al Imran 3:180)
