The prayer of the Prophet ﷺ used to be of thirteen rakʿat, i.e. of the night prayer.

كَانَ صَلاَةُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يَعْنِي بِاللَّيْلِ

The Prophet ﷺ used to offer thirteen rakʿat of the night prayer and that included the witr and two rakʿat (Sunna) of the Fajr prayer.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً مِنْهَا الْوِتْرُ وَرَكْعَتَا الْفَجْرِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe thirteen rak'ahs of the night prayer. Five out of them consisted of Witr, and he did not sit, but at the end (for salutation).

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِخَمْسٍ لاَ يَجْلِسُ فِي شَىْءٍ إِلاَّ فِي آخِرِهَا

'A'isha reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray thirteen rak'ahs during the night including the two rak'ahs (Sunan) of the dawn prayer.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بِرَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ

It is reported on the authority of 'A'isha that the prayer of Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the night consisted of ten rak'ahs. He observed a Witr and two rak'ahs (of Sunan) of the dawn prayer, and thus the total comes to thirteen rak'ahs.

سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ كَانَتْ صَلاَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ عَشَرَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَيُوتِرُ بِسَجْدَةٍ وَيَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ فَتِلْكَ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً

I heard Ibn 'Abbas saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed thirteen rak'ahs at night.

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray ten rak'ahs during the night, and would observe the witr with one rak'ah, he then prayed two rak'ahs of the dawn prayer. Thus he prayed thirteen rak'ahs in all.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ عَشْرَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَيُوتِرُ بِسَجْدَةٍ وَيَسْجُدُ سَجْدَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ فَذَلِكَ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray thirteen rak'ahs during the night, observing a witr out of that with five, he did not sit during the five except the last and then gave the salutation. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Numair reported it from Hisham recently.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray thirteen rak'ahs during the night, observing the witr prayer with nine (or as she said). He used to pray two rak'ahs while sitting and pray two rak'ahs of the dawn prayer between the adhan and the iqamah.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ بِسَبْعٍ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَتْ وَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَرَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ بَيْنَ الأَذَانِ وَالإِقَامَةِ

The Prophet ﷺ used to pray thirteen rak'ahs during the night including the two rak'ahs of the dawn prayer.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بِرَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ

"The Prophet (S) would pray thirteen Rak'ah at night."

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً

"The night prayer of Messenger of Allah was thirteen Rak'ah, five of which were his Witr, not sitting in any of them except at the end of them. When the Mu'adh-dhin called the Adhan he would stand to perform two light (Rak'ah)."

كَانَتْ صَلاَةُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ بِخَمْسٍ لاَ يَجْلِسُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْهُنَّ إِلاَّ فِي آخِرِهِنَّ فَإِذَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ قَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray nine (rak'ahs) at night, then when he grew older and put on weight he prayed seven."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تِسْعًا فَلَمَّا أَسَنَّ وَثَقُلَ صَلَّى سَبْعًا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray nine rak'ahs at night."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تِسْعَ رَكَعَاتٍ

"Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs during the night and day apart from the prescribed prayers, a house will be built for him in Paradise."

مَنْ صَلَّى فِي اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ بُنِيَ لَهُ بَيْتٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray (voluntary prayers) at night two by two, and he would pray one Rak’ah of Witr.”

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَيُوتِرُ بِرَكْعَةٍ

“The Prophet ﷺ used to pray the night prayer two Rak’ah by two Rak’ah.”

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Prophet ﷺ used to pray nine Rak’ah at night.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تِسْعَ رَكَعَاتٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray thirteen rak'ahs during the night, observing a witr out of that with five, he did not sit during the five except the last and then gave the salutation. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Numair reported it from Hisham recently. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1338)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray sixteen rakʿahs during the day.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّهَارِ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً

ʿAli ؓ was asked about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: He used to pray sixteen rakʿahʿs at night.

عَنْ صَلاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray sixteen rakʿahs at night apart from the prescribed prayers.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً سِوَى الْمَكْتُوبَةِ

“The Prophet ﷺ used to pray thirteen Rak’ah at night.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1359)

إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاثَ عَشْرَةَ

It was narrated from Al'Irbad bin Sariyah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to send Salah on the first row three times and on the second row once. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 817)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْمُقَدَّمِ ثَلَاثًا وَعَلَى الثَّانِي وَاحِدَةً

'A'isha reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up at night to pray, he began his prayer with two short rak'ahs. (Using translation from Muslim 767)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يُصَلِّي افْتَتَحَ صَلَاتَهُ بِرَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ

[AI] I asked Aisha, "How many units of dhuha prayer did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform?" She said, "Four units, and he would increase as Allah wills."

سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ كَمْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى؟ قَالَتْ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَيَزِيدُ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray thirteen units of prayer at night and he would perform the Witr prayer with five prostrations. He would not sit between them (the prostrations) until he sat in the final one, then he would give the salutation.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً وَكَانَ يُوتِرُ بِخَمْسِ سَجَدَاتٍ لَا يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَهُنَّ حَتَّى يَجْلِسَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not offer the taslim (salam) after the first two rakahs of the Witr prayer.

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَا يُسَلِّمُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الْوِتْرِ»
