If they do not believe you, [Prophet], say, ‘I act for myself, and you for yourselves. You are not responsible for my actions nor am I responsible for yours.’

Some of them do listen to you: but can you make the deaf hear if they will not use their minds?

Some of them look at you: but can you guide the blind if they will not see?

God does not wrong people at all- it is they who wrong themselves.

On the Day He gathers them together, it will be as if they have stayed [in the world] no longer than a single hour, and they will recognize one another. Those who denied the meeting with God will be the losers, for they did not follow the right guidance.

Whether We let you [Prophet] see some of the punishment We have threatened them with, or cause you to die [first], they will return to Us: God is witness to what they do.

وَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل لِّي عَمَلِي وَلَكُمْ عَمَلُكُمْۖ أَنتُم بَرِيٓـُٔونَ مِمَّآ أَعْمَلُ وَأَنَا۠ بَرِيٓءࣱ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنظُرُ إِلَيْكَۚ أَفَأَنتَ تَهْدِي ٱلْعُمْيَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَظْلِمُ ٱلنَّاسَ شَيْـࣰٔا وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ كَأَن لَّمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةࣰ مِّنَ ٱلنَّهَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيْنَهُمْۚ قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَ

وَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ

Every community is sent a mes-senger, and when their messenger comes, they will be judged justly; they will not be wronged.

They ask, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you say is true?’

Say [Prophet], ‘I cannot control any harm or benefit that comes to me, except as God wills. There is an appointed term for every community, and when it is reached they can neither delay nor hasten it, even for a moment.’

Say, ‘Think: if His punishment were to come to you, during the night or day, what part of it would the guilty wish to hasten?

Will you believe in it, when it actually happens?’ It will be said, ‘Now [you believe], when [before] you sought to hasten it?’

It will be said to the evildoers, ‘Taste lasting punishment. Why should you be rewarded for anything but what you did?’

They ask you [Prophet], ‘Is it true?’ Say, ‘Yes, by my Lord, it is true, and you cannot escape it.’

وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةࣲ رَّسُولࣱۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ رَسُولُهُمْ قُضِيَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

قُل لَّآ أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي ضَرࣰّا وَلَا نَفْعًا إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۗ لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌۚ إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ سَاعَةࣰ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَتَىٰكُمْ عَذَابُهُۥ بَيَٰتًا أَوْ نَهَارࣰا مَّاذَا يَسْتَعْجِلُ مِنْهُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

أَثُمَّ إِذَا مَا وَقَعَ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦٓۚ ءَآلْـَٰٔنَ وَقَدْ كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

ثُمَّ قِيلَ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْخُلْدِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ

۞ وَيَسْتَنۢبِـُٔونَكَ أَحَقٌّ هُوَۖ قُلْ إِي وَرَبِّيٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقࣱّۖ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ

Every soul that has done evil, if it possessed all that is on the earth, would gladly offer it as ransom. When they see the punishment, they will repent in secret, but they will be judged with justice and will not be wronged.

It is to God that everything in the heavens and the earth truly belongs: God’s promise is true, but most people do not realize it.

It is He who gives life and takes it, and you will all be returned to Him.

وَلَوْ أَنَّ لِكُلِّ نَفْسࣲ ظَلَمَتْ مَا فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ لَٱفْتَدَتْ بِهِۦۗ وَأَسَرُّوا۟ ٱلنَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَۖ وَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُم بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

هُوَ يُحْيِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

People, a teaching from your Lord has come to you, a healing for what is in [your] hearts, and guidance and mercy for the believers.

Say [Prophet], ‘In God’s grace and mercy let them rejoice: these are better than all they accumulate.’

Say, ‘Think about the provision God has sent down for you, some of which you have made unlawful and some lawful.’ Say, ‘Has God given you permission [to do this], or are you inventing lies about God?’

What will those people who invent lies about Him think on the Day of Resurrection? God is bountiful towards people, but most of them do not give thanks.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةࣱ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَآءࣱ لِّمَا فِي ٱلصُّدُورِ وَهُدࣰى وَرَحْمَةࣱ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

قُلْ بِفَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِۦ فَبِذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُوا۟ هُوَ خَيْرࣱ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُم مِّن رِّزْقࣲ فَجَعَلْتُم مِّنْهُ حَرَامࣰا وَحَلَٰلࣰا قُلْ ءَآللَّهُ أَذِنَ لَكُمْۖ أَمْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَفْتَرُونَ

وَمَا ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ

In whatever matter you [Prophet] may be engaged and whatever part of the Quran you are reciting, whatever work you [people] are doing, We witness you when you are engaged in it. Not even the weight of a speck of dust in the earth or sky escapes your Lord, nor anything lesser or greater: it is all written in a clear record.

But for those who are on God’s side there is no fear, nor shall they grieve.

For those who believe and are conscious of God,

for them there is good news in this life and in the Hereafter- there is no changing the promises of God- that is truly the supreme triumph.

Do not let their words grieve you [Prophet]. Power belongs entirely to God; He hears all and knows all;

وَمَا تَكُونُ فِي شَأْنࣲ وَمَا تَتْلُوا۟ مِنْهُ مِن قُرْءَانࣲ وَلَا تَعْمَلُونَ مِنْ عَمَلٍ إِلَّا كُنَّا عَلَيْكُمْ شُهُودًا إِذْ تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِۚ وَمَا يَعْزُبُ عَن رَّبِّكَ مِن مِّثْقَالِ ذَرَّةࣲ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَآ أَصْغَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَآ أَكْبَرَ إِلَّا فِي كِتَٰبࣲ مُّبِينٍ

أَلَآ إِنَّ أَوْلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ يَتَّقُونَ

لَهُمُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ فِي ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَفِي ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِۚ لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

وَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْۘ إِنَّ ٱلْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًاۚ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
