But the righteous will be in Gardens with springs-

“Enter them in peace and safety!”––

and We shall remove any bitterness from their hearts: [they will be like] brothers, sitting on couches, face to face.

No weariness will ever touch them there, nor will they ever be expelled.’

[Prophet], tell My servants that I am the Forgiving, the Merciful,

but My torment is the truly painful one.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتࣲ وَعُيُونٍ

ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَٰمٍ ءَامِنِينَ

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّ إِخْوَٰنًا عَلَىٰ سُرُرࣲ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ

لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبࣱ وَمَا هُم مِّنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ

۞ نَبِّئْ عِبَادِيٓ أَنِّيٓ أَنَا ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

وَأَنَّ عَذَابِي هُوَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ٱلْأَلِيمُ

Tell them too about Abraham’s guests:

when they came to him and said, ‘Peace,’ he said, ‘We are afraid of you.’

‘Do not be afraid,’ they said, ‘We bring you good news of a son who will have great knowledge.’

He said, ‘How can you give me such news when old age has come to me? What sort of news is this?’

They said, ‘We have told you the truth, so do not despair.’

He said, ‘Who but the misguided despair of the mercy of their Lord?’

and then asked, ‘Messengers, what is your errand?’

They replied, ‘We have been sent to a people who are guilty.’

But We shall save the household of Lot,

all except his wife: We have decreed that she will be one of those who stay behind.

وَنَبِّئْهُمْ عَن ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَٰمࣰا قَالَ إِنَّا مِنكُمْ وَجِلُونَ

قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمࣲ

قَالَ أَبَشَّرْتُمُونِي عَلَىٰٓ أَن مَّسَّنِيَ ٱلْكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرُونَ

قَالُوا۟ بَشَّرْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْقَٰنِطِينَ

قَالَ وَمَن يَقْنَطُ مِن رَّحْمَةِ رَبِّهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمࣲ مُّجْرِمِينَ

إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَآ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ

When the messengers came to the household of Lot,

he said, ‘You are strangers.’

They said, ‘We have brought you what they said would never happen:

we have brought you the Truth. We speak truly,

so leave in the dead of the night with your household, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded.’

We made this decree known to him: the last remnants of those people would be wiped out in the morning.

The people of the town came along, revelling,

and he told them, ‘These are my guests, do not disgrace me.

Fear God, and do not shame me.’

They answered, ‘Have we not told you not to interfere [between us and] anyone else?’

He said, ‘My daughters are here, if you must.’

By your life [Prophet], they wandered on in their wild intoxication

and the blast overtook them at sunrise:

We turned their city upside down and rained on them a shower of clay stones.

There truly is a sign in this for those who can learn-

it is still there on the highway-

there truly is a sign in this for those who believe.

The forest-dwellers, too, were wrongdoers

and We took retribution on them; both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see.

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ءَالَ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمࣱ مُّنكَرُونَ

قَالُوا۟ بَلْ جِئْنَٰكَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ

وَأَتَيْنَٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَ

فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعࣲ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱتَّبِعْ أَدْبَٰرَهُمْ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدࣱ وَٱمْضُوا۟ حَيْثُ تُؤْمَرُونَ

وَقَضَيْنَآ إِلَيْهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْأَمْرَ أَنَّ دَابِرَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَقْطُوعࣱ مُّصْبِحِينَ

وَجَآءَ أَهْلُ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

قَالَ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ضَيْفِي فَلَا تَفْضَحُونِ

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ

قَالُوٓا۟ أَوَلَمْ نَنْهَكَ عَنِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

قَالَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِيٓ إِن كُنتُمْ فَٰعِلِينَ

لَعَمْرُكَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي سَكْرَتِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُشْرِقِينَ

فَجَعَلْنَا عَٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةࣰ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَٰتࣲ لِّلْمُتَوَسِّمِينَ

وَإِنَّهَا لَبِسَبِيلࣲ مُّقِيمٍ

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةࣰ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

وَإِن كَانَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ لَظَٰلِمِينَ

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامࣲ مُّبِينࣲ

The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers:

We gave them Our signs, but they turned their backs.

They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security-

the blast overwhelmed them early in the morning.

What they had gained was of no use to them.

We did not create the heavens and the earth and everything between them without a true purpose: the Hour will certainly come, so [Prophet] bear with them graciously.

Your Lord is the All Knowing Creator.

وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْحِجْرِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمْ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ

وَكَانُوا۟ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا ءَامِنِينَ

فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ

فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ لَـَٔاتِيَةࣱۖ فَٱصْفَحِ ٱلصَّفْحَ ٱلْجَمِيلَ

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
