Witr is a rak'ah at the end of the prayer.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

Witr is a rak'ah at the end of the night prayer.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: Prayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى

A man who lived in the desert asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the prayer at night. He made a sign with his two fingers-in this way in pairs. The witr consists of one rak'ah towards the end in night.

أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ بِأُصْبُعَيْهِ هَكَذَا مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

A man from among the people of the desert asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about prayer at night. He said:"(It is) two by two, and Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night."

أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ قَالَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Prayer at night is two by two, and witr is one rak'ah.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray (voluntary prayers) at night two by two, and he would pray one Rak’ah of Witr.”

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَيُوتِرُ بِرَكْعَةٍ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer the night prayers two by two.”

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى

“The night prayer is (to be offered) two by two.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى

“Prayers at night and during the day are to be offered two by two.”

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "The prayer of the night and the day is in pairs, in pairs." And one of them said, "Two units of prayer, two units of prayer."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى» وَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا «رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ»

“Prayers at night and during the day are to be offered two by two.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1322)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1689)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Prayers at night are two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one rak'ah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1668)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الْفَجْرَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1690)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَتْرُ آخِرُ رَكْعَةٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray at night in pairs, and he would perform the Witr prayer with one Rak'ah at the end of the night.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَيُوتِرُ بِرَكْعَةٍ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The night and day prayers should be observed in pairs (two by two)." Shu'bah used to differentiate between them.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَكَانَ شُعْبَةُ يَفْرَقُهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Witr is one rak'ah at the end of the night." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1689)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ said: The evening prayer is a part of the daytime prayer, so perform the evening prayer along with it. And the night prayer should be offered in odd numbers of units, and the witr prayer is a single unit at the end of the night."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ وَصَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The Maghrib prayer is the Witr prayer of the daytime, so perform the Witr prayer of the night. The Witr prayer of the night is to be performed in sets of two units, and the Witr prayer consists of a single unit at the end of the night."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْمَغْرِبِ وِتْرُ صَلَاةِ النَّهَارِ فَأَوْتِرُوا صَلَاةَ اللَّيْلِ وَصَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوَتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ

[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ that he said, "Prayer is performed in pairs, in pairs, so he mentioned its likeness."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray nine rak'ahs at night." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1725)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تِسْعَ رَكَعَاتٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Abdullah ibn Umar used to say, "(Voluntary) prayer in both the day and night is two at a time with a taslim after every 2 raka'ahs." Malik said, "That is the custom among us."

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى يُسَلِّمُ مِنْ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَالَ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ مَالِكٌ : وَهُوَ الْأَمْرُ عِنْدَنَا

The Prophet ﷺ said: Prayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1295)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى»

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى»

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى»

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ»

[AI] The prophet ﷺ used to pray during the day, two by two.

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The night prayer should be performed in pairs of two, and the Witr prayer should be a single unit of prayer at the end of the night."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالْوِتْرُ رَكْعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ»

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : "The night prayer is performed in pairs, so when you fear dawn, then pray one Rak'ah."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَوَاحِدَةً»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "The example of a believer is like that of a palm tree."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ النَّخْلَةِ»

[AI] "From the Prophet ﷺ he said, 'There is no prayer for someone who keeps turning around.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا صَلَاةَ لِمُلْتَفِتٍ»

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "There is no prayer for someone who turns around."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا صَلَاةَ لِمُلْتَفِتٍ»

A man said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! How is the prayer of the night?" He said, "Two rakʿat followed by two rakʿat and so on, and when you apprehend the approaching dawn, offer one rakʿa as witr." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1137)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِرَكْعَةٍ»

A man said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! How is the prayer of the night?" He said, "Two rakʿat followed by two rakʿat and so on, and when you apprehend the approaching dawn, offer one rakʿa as witr." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1137)

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "The prayers of the night and the prayers of the day should be performed in pairs."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَكَذَلِكَ

"أَوْتِر قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنَامَ، وصلاةُ الليلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ".

"الْوتْرُ رَكعَةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيلِ".

"صَلاَةُ اللَّيلِ مَثْنَىَ مثنى، وَالْوِترُ ركعةٌ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ".

"صَلاةُ النَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى".

"صَلاةُ الَّليل وَالنَّهَارِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى تُسَلِّمُ في كُلِّ رَكْعَتَينِ".
